Please make dates current for everybody...
Making dates current for everybody will benefit new members (those could not file in July/Aug 07). For you with Nov 04 PD in EB2, and others waiting with I-485 filed, it will create a chaos. USCIS folks will get green to pick any file at random and issue GC's, then we all be unhappy.
They should move cutoff dates in an orderly manner without retrogressing them in the future. Retrogression pains more than no or little cutoff date movement.

I dont get it, u r a EB3- india (ur profile says that) with SEp 05 PD and you got an RFE on 485? Cos, i know uscis did not even touch eb3 india with any PD of even 2002. something is not right?
Incorrect! This is just a myth. I-485 RFE can be issued and it can be denied when PD is not current.

This statement from Mr. Aytes can be used to prove the conspiracy against July filers. If they knew that the security check process would have been completed shortly, then why in the world would they have to approve them before July....They had all the time till end of the fiscal year (Sept 30th) to approve such cases once the security checks were complete and still not allow wastage of immigrant visas for the current fiscal year. They only approved it for one of the following two reasons:
-- They didnt want all of us to file under the old fee system. That would cause USCIS a loss of $225-300 million (based on guestimates from www.immigration-law.com)
-- They were not ready to accept the work load of 300-400k I-485 applications which could have led to huge backlogs for years to come because the current political situation will in no way increase the number of immigrant visas for legal immigrants. All they care for is illegal immigrants.....

I think its not going to budge after this for 3 months or so, till they calculate all the applications received and do the math. Hopefully it will move forwards then, however (less likely) it can move backwards too ( I have seen strangest patterns with the bulletins)

Employment Letter is Required. I would even go to the extent of emphasising to put original letter instead of a photocopy. Do not take chances. The application can be rejected/RFE can be issued in the absece of initial evidence. Read the new memo and educate yourself rather then blindly believing members or lawyers. Ignorance of law is not an excuse if you were to challenge a denial notice. When all information is available, make yourself educated. and BTW get a good lawyer to file your application so that each and every small detail can be taken care of.

After arriving in US , typically It takes about a year or two before you start ur GC process.(Initial job/city jumping )
So most of the applicants in 01-02 arrived during the halcyon days of 99-00.
with this analogy, I don't expect too many applicant in 03-04

Nice read...I own a home too. If I have a GC now, I am in a position to pay off considerable amount on my mortgage. I know its a drop in the ocean but I am sure there are lot of people like me.

So there you have it - no vote on the bill today...
I don't get it guys - what's up with this country - is this really what it's come down? Give me your tired, your poor - but DEFINITELY don't give me your talented, your educated and your promising. Because really - what are we going to do with people who actually pay taxes, contribute to the community and help bring prosperity.
We would love to have just your best cotton-pickers...this is just a little disappointing - and yet I ask, what should we do now? We have 2 months to go - it's time to make a HUGE difference...

Has any one working on EAD experienced delays in renewals and how does HR department react to such delay's. Least on H1 it is clear that you can work for 8 months on receipt.

The rally was great, but disappointed on three fronts,
1) Very few turned up from DC,MD,VA.
2) The congress men thinks that we are illegal immigrants, as he is constantly mentioned illegal Irish immigrants.
3) Robert mentioned that as if its an India-China immigration forum, I think thats going to do more bad for us then good. I think everybody agrees that there is lot of bad news about India and China, and Americans loosing jobs due to off shoring. Apart from that we have persons in same boat from other countries too, though I was surprised to see them.
As mentioned by others we need to change the org name to legalimmigrationvoice.org immidiately.

i agree Murthy should have done this on the 3rd or on the 5th or even on the 9th, if she was sincere about it.
