It is just not enough to add a new member to IV. In my opinion, we also need the new member to be proud of associating himself/herself with IV.
Here is what every new member needs to be made aware of-
- What IV has achieved in the last year of existence?
(Manager's amendment, media interviews including the Reuters article plus the last minute attempts in the lame-duck session)
- IV is the **only** grass-roots organization in the US working towards issues of Skilled Legal Immigration. The affected people in retrogression runs close to a million.
The thing I am driving at is that new members join and do not persist with IV because they have not been made aware of what IV is and what it has achieved.
It is not about IV core members alone, the issues at hand are affecting YOU!!!!

I had discussion with Mr.Gotcher about this issue. He said, AILA is collecting information on this matter and they are pursuing with Altanta center. But he does not believe or expect any positive outcome. As said earlier he insist to send a formal complaint with OIG and offered his time/help. As its affecting large group of people he refused to accept any fee. I offered we are ready to cover any expense which he might incurr, but seems like it would be very less and he offered free service. Mr.Gotcher will draft a letter in a week time. What we need now - lot support and signature. We do not need to provide any case number. so I dont believe there would be any consequence. So guys please come forward. Spread this news as much as possible and get enough support. Help yourself and get out of this mess.

For that one of these two should happen. Eb3 should move forward and Eb2 should retrogress.
Or EB2 stays and EB3 alone moves forward.

I guess chance for 1st and 2nd option are high. And, this would answer Ramba's question how EB3 for India would get approval for PD 2003. There are very few 2001 PDs left (per me). Relatively more 2002 and most of 2001 and 2002 are pending due to name check else they would have got their GC during July and USCIS would not have returned VISA numbers back to DOS nor some numbers would have finally got wasted (FY2007).
So next PD would be 2003 (and there are very few 2003 filings that were filed before June 2007).

We are trying to write a book on this and other issues in order to raise funds so we can employ a lobbyist
Had an e-mail today from a publisher who seems very interested in our aims and will update when I get any news.
My attorney is meeting with #Othersides attorney tomorrow# for case conference, whatever that means ?
It seems they agree most facts so my attorney only has to convince the other side of the rest, f I win the case it shoudl help others

Big movement usually comes in June (last quarter of the fiscal year) because DOS is not good in statistics (they are hiring US citizens...just kidding, no offense meant) and only that time it realizes that there are more visas to give. And then suddenly some big VB movements (i think DOS should hire us instead as statistician....i can make accurate VB...lol).
But I believe for FY2008, big movement will come on April (DOS doesn't like a repeat of the July VB fiasco).
i agree with junRN....i think this time around the movement will be accurate because all the 485 cases have been filed (excluding BEC ppl) no labor substitution will occur, hence they will know how many visas are in hand and how many can be allotted. Although I think the movement will start from Dec as they suggested...but it will be conservative..and then get agrressive (if reqd) by april.

The status on my son's EAD ( first time) changed to card production ordered, while EAD renewal of myself and my wife still shows received and pending. All three applications were e-filed (TSC) on July 4, 2008.

Can you please let us know the procedure? I'm very much interested in filing a formal complaint with the CIS and Ombudsman. I'm not against genuine candidates getting their GC through MNC executive category, but would like to stop this malpractice.

please note that although you have time till august 17th to file 485, unless you get ur labor approved in July u will not be eligible. The adjustment to extend it for a month is for people who were eligible in july. Please plan accordingly.

1) Fast-track GC process for Masters degree holders from US universities. This will be the least controversial, boost admissions (and money) flowing into universities, and clear up backlog in regular GC queue. Its a win-win and most senators, congressmen have voiced support for it already. We can get very good support from University lobbyists also (if they exist!!).

- Everyone who wants to support this initiative send (snail mail) a piece of paper with their Name, Company Name, Case Number, Filing Date, Audit Date and Signature at the end, to an address (to be determined). These cases will be attached to the template/letter above and sent to the Inspector General.
That way we will have one letter, but individual signatures and cases, all in one package.
Any suggestions?
