I called them this morning (I had other commitments earlier).
It was good to hear that they are now very aware of these bills.
Nearly all used the ploy "Where are you from?", to screen out those who are not from their district, but politely noted the call in their logs.
It was also good to be able to say that I had already spoken with my Congressman on the subject (because that's where they expect you to go first).
I've spoken with a lot of law maker's aids, and this ("where are you from?") is a ploy that is typically used when they have a high volume of calls. I would take that as a good sign.

this whole thread is a nonsense, it belevies that people are not aware of the tricks placed by desi consulting companies. how come people do not take jobs
in foutune 500 companies if they are so good at their skills, why do people go to
desi consulting companies for training, after MS degree every body is asking for
the list of consulting companies( why do they do that ).
there are people who ask is it valid to be without payslips on H1B ( how much

Below is a very good article from the "Economic Policy Institute " that highlights the fact that 2 well known Indian firms have single handedly lapped up 65% of H1B visas last year and have applied for just 69 green cards . Thats a GC application rate of 0.0004%. i Cannot help agree with the facts in this article. I totally agree that firms like these which abuse the system ought to be severely punished and blacklisted, so that geniunine US companies can get their required workers , when they need them . 2012 - EB2 retrogrades because all indians start applying in EB2.
2019 - EB2 current
2020 - EB2 retrogrades again
In the mean time .......
2025 - 50 k EB3 Indians are appying for EAD and AP for the 20th time and hoping that they do not get harrased at the POE while coming back

It seems sun didn't rise from the east or has it....the miracle has happened....after 10 years and 25 days in this country with 2 advanced degrees and with days of ups and downs ...days of confusion and frustrations I finally received a mail:

My PD is Nov 2001. It became current last month. Filed 485 this month. Now I see people with 2007 PDs eligible to file. Can't complain. Take it as it comes and proceed. You are not a player in these. You are only a spectator.
All will be fine. Good luck.
Years we have been told priority date establishes your place in the queue.
We have spurned job offers and declined the new PERM process to hold on to the priority dates.
Many are still awaiting labor certifications from the backlog elimination centers. Out comes USCIS and says everyone with a LC can file I140 & I485.
People still waiting for LC with priority dates in 2003-2004 are seeing applicants who have priority dates as late as 2007 but with approved LCs through PERM walk through to I485.
Net result, USCIS is going to be flooded with applicants enough to retrogress the priority dates 3-4 years back as early as september. (Everybody with a LC will be able to file for I485 in July). So applicants with priority dates of 2007 are going to get EAD and GC, while LC backlogged 2003 applicants to have to wait for another 3-4 years before they can even file I485.
Aint fair. Aint fair at all. How can this be. How can rules be changed in the middle of the game.

Being a volunteer, I had a chance to meet most of the members of the core team and other selfless volunteers. I also met the staffs of three congressmen and attended the congressional reception as well. I'll cherish this memory forever, since not many will get this chance in their lifetime.
One of the memorable moment on a personal level is, I met two of my high school juniors after more than 15yrs. It was a great feeling.

However, should the dates be retrogressed before you file, you will not be able to file until your PD becomes current again.
There is no time limit. You can file it as long as your PD makes the cut off time

I would recommend converting regular I-140 into premium processing and get the approval at the earliest. Then file 485 ASAP. No one knows if the date will forward or backward in coming visa bulletins.
1.I got labor and 140 approved under EB3( Company A)
2.Through different company(Company B) perm labor applied under eb2 and approved and 140 applied ( still pending)
3. used portability of priority date but 140 still pending( eb3 to eb2)
Now my priority date is current under eb2 but my 140 is pending through company B ( porting PD from company A)
is it possible to apply 485 through company B? even 140 not approved
